Every Minute Counts

I woke up this morning determined to get it all in before heading to the airport. We had been in Costa Rica all week but there were a few things left that I really wanted to do. Our ride to the airport was scheduled for 12:30pm, so it all had to happen before then.

9:00am, I rolled out of bed, grabbed breakfast and first on the agenda was the spa. I got there and the earliest massage was a 30min massage at 11:30am. I booked it and moved to the next… Kayaking. I really wanted to Jet Ski but I thought I needed a reservation. Truth is it was kind of a life mission to go Jet skiing since a family vacation in South Africa many years ago, where my older brother didn’t  let me go with him and Dad because “They couldn’t stop for me to throw up if I got sea sick”. So mean!! Lmao. To be fair, I did get sea sick on some ferry right before but who was paying attention. Lol

I got to the water sport counter and asked about kayaking, then the Jet Skis, figured the worst they could say was no. To my surprise, I could rent the Jet Ski for 30 minutes. whaaaat! I was so excited. I had the time of my life. The whole time I’m thinking “I wish Feyi could see how fast I am going in the middle of this Ocean Haha.” You already know I called him n Dad to make noise after. The amazing ways your childhood gets you. lol

Next, I got a surf board and had a blast riding the waves at the beach. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, one of the guys from the resorts photo shop shows up with a camera. He gave me a photo shoot then I explained I was heading out and needed them asap; He got right on it and said they’d be ready in 20 minutes.

I went back to the room, grabbed my luggage and headed down to the spa. This was where I met this lady with the hands of life! I laid on the table and she began her magic. It was called the relaxation massage and that was exactly what it did. 30 minutes of bliss. Then I grabbed my luggage, headed to the photo shop, picked up my pictures and made it to the lobby right at 12:30.

I sat on the plane and reflected on how awesome my morning had been. In 3.5 hours I couldn’t believe how much I actually did. I realized that I made every minute count. In the same token I couldn’t help but think of how often we round up time. 10:50 becomes 11 and 12:05 is 12:15. In just those 2, 15 minutes are lost.

One of the main reasons people don’t work out is time, others don’t eat right because they don’t have the time to count calories or cook but truth is, you can do anything you set your mind to. 30 minutes of your day can give you the workout you need, 10 minutes is enough to log your calories for the day. Don’t let time be your excuse. You can do it if you want to… Make every minute count. Let’s do this!
