F The Dentist!

There I was, near lifeless, I could feel my feet and my hands but I wasn’t sure what was going on anywhere else. Unaware, I was peaceful and oh so happy with my eyes closed and mouth open as they worked on my teeth. I kept coming up with these genius jokes that would have me cracking up, then I would zone out and wonder if I was tripping or not. My jokes were so funny to me that at one point I raised my hand to see if we could take a break so I could jot down my ideas (They didn’t let me. Haha). The buzz was interesting but there were several times I wanted to snap out of it but my body just had no control.

As I laid there in a daze, I thought to myself ‘I know this in nitrous, I can’t see it, it is a gas and it is the reason I am this relaxed” I marveled at the idea that something invisible could have such an effect on this body. At that point, I realized the body is so vulnerable and even I am so guilty of forgetting that. We eat things it can’t process like Trans fats and don’t give it enough of the foods it needs like carbs, proteins and vitamins, then we fill it up with a bunch of simple sugars and just expect it to pull through. Think about it, if nitrous, a gas, can render your body completely useless by breathing it in… how much so the foods we put in our bodies? Is it out of sight, out of mind? Like we can’t see our insides so they must be doing great? Why then are we so shocked after years and years of poor decisions to hear and feel the repercussions?

It really would be nice if our bodies were super human but unfortunately they aren’t. They are vulnerable and sensitive and need to be treated as such. For some reason I found these thoughts so funny that I started laughing hard and all I could think was F the dentist! You know, Focus on the dentist… What did you think I was talking about? Let’s do more to take care of this body. It’s the only one we get. Lifestyle change not crash diet. Let’s do this!
