It Won’t Be There Later

I woke up this morning for a 6am flight, headed to Orlando on vacation. See, usually, vacations are my excuse to pig out. I try to taste everything and feed my curiosity. In my mind, deserts make up for their calories in joy. its like i make up a joy metric and they are worth so much more a calorie. Lol

But being on vacation does not change how much food my body really needs. It made sense in my head, but my body wasn’t feeling that nonsense talk. I kept pondering and it all came down to one question “Why is it so much harder to pay attention to your food on vacations?”

Finally it clicked… It’s because it won’t be there later!

Truth is, when I’m at the grocery store, in my house or at a restaurant close by and I decide to pass on something, secretly, I know if I realllly want it, I can get it next time. It is not a conscious thought but it is just one of those things. On vacation though, it feels like “You snooze, you lose”. Lol.

So my plan: Take it to go. Sounds so senseless, but trust me it works. Having the option to take some back with me, takes the pressure off needing to eat it all at that moment and gives me a few more chances to make a better decision. The best part of it, is it helps manage your portions better! So I will order whatever I please, but will do my best to eat only what I need and take the rest with me… Or leave it if I decide it’s too much work to go. Either way, I’m in control

Now counting calories will be tough.. This is where the “I’m on vacation part of my mind wins. Haha. But I will do my best to check when I am not sure:D

Feel free to try it and let me know! Happy Holidays people! I hope you get to have some precious family time, build awesome memories and remember Jesus is the reason for the season…Cause I sure will;)

To the few who understand it, a great vacation is coming back home rested, looking good, and feeling good . The only way that is going to happen really and truly is if you watch your portions, count your calories and continue your workout. It’s hard but it’s the only option you have. I’m on vacation too but I know I will have to try. Lol
