3 M&Ms

One of my favorite Aunts in the world is in town and I couldn’t be more excited to have her around. Just recently I realized that she and my hubby are the exact same person! It is so annoying… I say annoying to sound cool but I really mean I am so jealous. Lol. They have a blast just being in the same space. Being musicians and creative people, they often switch to this foreign language that I struggle to understand but it’s the sweetest thing to watch.

That day, we all went to see the dawn of the planet of the apes. As we walked in, Ife stopped to talk to one of the workers while Aunt Ty and I walked over to get some snacks. She asked for sugar popcorn and was bummed out cause they didn’t have it. Then she started looking around for something else to buy. She finally landed on some candy “Aunt Ty, Do you really want any of that or are you just looking for something to buy?” With guilt in her eyes she smiled… “Ok, I guess I don’t”

We walked back to meet hubby with nothing in hand… “What did you get???” I was quiet for a second and Ty jumps in “Well, I was going to get some candy but Moren guilted me out of it. The way she even asked me if I wanted it, I felt so bad and just crumbled”. They both laughed but somehow talked themselves into going back to the stand to buy stuff. They came back with a bunch, from drinks, to candy and somehow my bag became their storage.

A couple of days later, I grabbed my purse about to head to work. I reached into it, trying to find a notepad, at that moment I must have hit the bag of candy just right because I pulled my hand out and there were 3 pieces of M&Ms staring at me. I had already talked myself into eating it, but I snapped out of it.  “Just trash it now!” I thought. I hurried to the trash, threw the 3 out and the bag as well.

There is nothing more challenging than other people messing up your fitness plan, but it will happen much more often than you would like so rather than fall for it each time, make up your mind to overcome the challenge however you need to. From Learning to say no, to trashing stuff, or even just separating yourself from the situation. Remember it tastes good for a few minutes, but your body spends a long time paying for it!
