I was too excited. It had been a few years since we talked and here we were on facetime. We had too much to catch up on. As we were talking, hubby walked into the room, I flipped my iPad around “Babe say hi! Can you imagine, we were apartment mates in college!” he laughed “Oh wow, hey! How are you doing??” Excited she responded “I’m great; It’s nice to meet you! It’s ironic, I don’t know how SHE got into fitness, I remember back then, she always had food by her bed, and those little Milo cubes!” Ife burst out laughing turned to me and joked “See your life”… she continued “Yup, and the only time I ever saw her run was if she was late for class”. I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe.
It was awesome to go down memory lane and be reminded of how much had really changed. I love when I have conversations with potential clients and they go look “I just can’t, I don’t have the discipline for it, I don’t like it and well, I don’t have time for it” It’s funny cause I can totally relate. That was me all day every day. Haha
Now I must confess; if fitness was really what it is hyped up to be, I would NOT be able to keep up. I am too laid back for that… I said laid back but I really mean lazy. Lol. Like, I am just not built for the eat leaves for dinner every night, and go to the gym at 5am every morning while remembering to take supplements with each meal. Oh how can I forget the unending diets and detox cleanses. Geez, I would shoot myself and be in a different line of business. Just being honest.
The good news for me was discovering that it is not complicated. I say it all the time, and people look at me like, yeah whatever. But it really isn’t. The trick is investing your efforts correctly. Learn how your decisions really impact your body and do it right. Fitness requires effort, commitment and discipline, no doubt; but it is simple and straight forward.
