For a lot of people, thanksgiving is a period of time when we get a couple days off, hang out with family, eat too much food and go shopping. I must admit that it’s easy to get carried away but this year feels too different, too intense and I realize just how much I have to be thankful for.
See, the tragedy of Ferguson has been front of mind but I saw a video earlier that just hit home. A young gentle man was coming out of his car when a cop car pulled up next to him. The cop asked for his license, so he reached into his car to get it and the bullets came flying. I thought dang, God forbid, but that could easily have been any guy I know. He wasn’t dressed funny; it didn’t look like a bad neighborhood. He did absolutely nothing wrong but there he was on the ground. You could hear him in pain trying to explain himself and figure out why he had gotten shot. It was heartbreaking.
So this year, I want to use this time to be truly grateful for God’s protection, provision and peace. I am truly grateful for you and your continued support. You inspire me to be and do better! Thank you for opening up your lives to Makkoy and allowing us to motivate positive changes in you. Words cannot express the joy and fulfillment it brings. For all this I am grateful and I’m aware that this is only the beginning! So from our family to yours!… Have an awesome thanksgiving!
And ofcourse our Thanksgiving Fitness attack plan:
Remember to pace yourself! Eat all that you please but pay attention to your body’s “Full radar”. It takes 20 minutes for your brain to realize you are full and the food never feels good when you’re too stuffed. You’ll find that if you make a conscious decision to this, you will enjoy every bite of your thanksgiving dinner and not murder all the fitness benefits you gained leading up to it. Have a wonderful holiday weekend! Take care
