Hubby had just gotten back from work. He said hello then went to the room to go change. I was on my computer trying to get some work done when I heard him call for me sounding so bummed out and upset “Babee!”. I walked into the room and met him with my Bluetooth headphones in one hand and his charger in the other. He goes “Moren, I have told you not to use my charger. This is the only one I have left. Please I can’t get stuck without a charger”. I felt so insulted… as I do every other time we’ve had this conversation. Hahaha. I responded “Do you really think that I would break your charger by just touching it??”
I mean, my track record is not that fabulous. We both used android phones for a long time, so in my mind, chargers going bad could have been either of us. It didn’t matter that 9 of 10 broken chargers where from my side of the bed or that the only car chargers that broke were the ones that made it into my car. I just figured that he bought more expensive ones, and either way it could have been any ones fault. *Sips tea*
Anyway, now that have an iPhone, it is clear who is who. It has been 3 months and I have 2 perfectly fine charges but I still have headphones that use his charger. So we talked about it and as usual he could tell I was disgruntled. He finally found a way to muster the words “Ok babe, go ahead and use it” at which point I was feeling cool and refused as I told him I already got another one while reminding him of my perfectly fine iPhone chargers.
Of course the next night… aka last night, I’m in bed and my charger won’t charge my phone. I am bending the wire to get it on but it won’t work. Then It works for a second then goes off and is just driving me nuts. All I could think in my head was “Craaaaaapppppp… This dude can’t be right!! I really don’t want him to be right! worrrkkkkk” haha. He was fast asleep so I made up my mind never to mention it to him as I went online to order 5 chargers. LOL… Hopefully, he just misses this post. Haha. I love that man so much. He is so going to give me a hard time once he sees this.
So what does any of this have to do with fitness?? Glad you asked! see when it comes to fitness, we are so self-righteous about what we are doing and the results we see. We act like our bodies are just over reacting and should just fall in line and get with the program. On the other hand your body feels like, “Seriously, what I am asking for is not ridiculous, it’s really all on you. If you just take these simple steps we will all be happy”. At this point it’s up to you to remain in denial and pretend the gods of fitness are just against you or you can step up and take responsibility– Maybe buying 5 chargers was overkill, but you get my point! 😀 The body is too simple to cause the type of grief that it causes so many people. Love yourself for who you are right now. Then learn your body so that you can improve from good to great and can make every effort count! If you need help, please reach out and we’ll be happy to help!
