My little human alarm clock went off in the other room. As usual, he was up super early. I rolled out of bed, walked into his room and gave him a kiss on his forehead “Good morning darling”. He calmed down as I picked him up, took him to our room and fed him. In a few minutes he was back asleep and it was time for my last shut eye before I got the day started.
Lying in bed trying to fall asleep proved unusually difficult. I couldn’t help but think about a few situations that had bothered me and each one just pissed me the hell off. Usually, I’m the voice of reason but there was nothing I could say to myself to get over the hump. The annoying part was that these situations involved the most random people so I was confused about why I was so bothered. Lol
I tossed and turned trying to shake the thoughts when I finally realized that though my frustrations were valid, I was being a little dramatic. Unlike most people, my next thought was “I need to get some cardio in” You see, someone just read that line and rolled their eyes. But keep calm and let me explain.
Our bodies are composed of all kinds of chemicals. Are you not amazed by how you take shots of tequila and lose your normal logical reasoning? Or a doctor gives you a local anesthetic and you lose any sense of feeling in that area? So why does it sound like fiction when you hear that your body releases endorphins (feel good hormones) after a great cardio workout session? These endorphins completely make you feel better for an extended period of time and happy which in turn allows you to be more logical about the situations at hand.
Food is usually the easy way out but unfortunately, trying to eat your sorrows away never actually works. A few hours later, I went out for a jog and felt all types of amazing. The frustrations were still valid but just seemed unnecessary and there were more important things to get done. So if you are having a hard time, bored, upset or hurt get some cardio in, however is convenient and enjoy all the benefits while doing your body a favor. Let’s do this!
