Most people think there is only one way to get it right. When they think fitness they think 5am workout sessions and absolutely no carbs allowed. Others think diet and to them diet means no food. It’s quite a shame that our sources of information have blocked out our sense of self and sold us these strange ideas of doing too much to get anything at all. The beauty is in the reality: You have total control of your fitness!
I love working out at home. During 90% of my home workout sessions, I’m inappropriately dressed (feel free to judge. haha), watching tv or making faces at my little man as we listen to music. For me, heading to the gym takes a little more effort than I’m willing to put in so I get an effective workout in the comfort of my home.
Now, right after I had my baby, I felt the need for a change in environment. I was on maternity leave so honestly, getting out of the house was super awesome. I loved spending some time in the sauna, the option to swim and the equipment was different and fun. I knew my house was an option but I felt like going to the gym so I did just that. It is so empowering to understand that you can achieve your fitness goals however you prefer as long as you understand how your body works.
The first few times I went in, I had my little gym bag but it seemed I ALWAYS forgot something important… a pair of flip flops for the shower, a towel, my hair brush or something so random. Each time, I would be so mad because it would throw off all my plans so I put together a little checklist of “Gym bag essentials” to save me the stress. It may seem silly now, but feel free to shoot me a “you’re awesome!” message when this list saves you from leaving something behind. Lol.
