How to begin your fitness journey- The very first step

So many people find themselves putting in so much effort but see barely any results. It can be so frustrating and most times causes them to quit. But there is good news… How? Because it means they are willing to do the work but they are just doing it wrong. The body is so basic that it is very easy to understand why it is responding however it responds. Truth is every time you look in the mirror you should be able to see the decisions you have made and understand what you are looking at. It’s this simple, if you do your part, your body will respond but if you are even just a little off, your body runs with it and does as it pleases… Yup, just like a little kid.

Start

So where should you start from? Everyone says this but somehow we all still underestimate its value… Your food is everything. I say everything but I really mean a whole lot. If your food is not in check, then all the extras you do are just failed rituals. Now, when most people hear start with food, they automatically think it means cut everything you love out and eat very little.

Remember, if you veer off even just a little bit, your body runs with it… So if you eat too little, your body freaks out, if you eat too much your body gains weight and if you deprive your body of important nutrients it needs, then it just does whatever.  For each individual, the definition of too much and too little will differ. This is why learning your own body is crucial.

So the very first thing to do is to understand where you are right now. What are you eating? How much are you eating? Are you working out? What type of workouts? See, if you don’t have this covered, you’ll find yourself making a bunch of random adjustments without understanding the impact of what you are doing. Which means you are just as good now as you were when you started and have no control of your body. Make sense?

Like I heard the other day “If you do not know where you come from, you don’t know where you are, and if you don’t know where you are, then you don’t know where you’re going so you’re probably going wrong” Take a step back and take a clean look at where you are now.
