OMG!!!! A DETOX THAT MAKES SENSE!

I am totally against most detox programs because they force people to starve themselves. Usually, they are stuck drinking some type of liquid mix for a period of time or cut out so much of their daily food intake and the logic is doing that would gives the body a break from the regular junk.

I mean it sounds noble and it almost makes sense, except your body actually needs foods from all the food groups to be functional. The real goal of a detox should be to get rid of toxins without exhausting your body.  So when I saw this awesome Detox from Dr. Hyman, my soul smiled. They are very basics things to do and this is how it made sense to me

  • Drink lots of water- duhhh. Lol
  • Keep bowel moving once or 2ce a day- Fancy way to say take a dump. lol
  • Eat organic produce and animal products to avoid toxins- Don’t die trying to do this but EVERY chance you can, do your best to get organic foods in
  • Eat 8-10 servings of colorful fruits and vegetables- 8-10!!! That’s sounds impossible but make them a crucial part of daily diet.
    • Include veggies like Broccoli, collards, kale, cabbage, kale, garlic and onions which help increase sulfur in the body and help detoxification
  • Avoid stimulants, sedatives and drugs such as alcohol, caffeine and nicotine- just makes sense
  • Exercise 5 times weekly – I say at least 3 sessions of cardio and strength training
  • Get rid of white menace- white flour and white sugar
    • This one is tough, I love my white! Haha But truth is, they use chemicals to bleach and process the foods to get them white, so they are packed with toxins.
  • MY FAVORITE: Sweat profusely at least 3 times a week using a sauna, steam or detox bath… Need I say more??? Someone please tell hubby that I didn’t make this up. Lol Spa days!
    • Now, going to the spa 3 times a week can get really expensive, but some gyms do have saunas.
  • Take a high quality multivitamin and mineral- I hate drugs, but it’s really tough to get all the nutrients you need from food alone. I think the key here is “high-quality”.
  • Relax! Relax! Relax
