Choose While You’re Still High

It was the middle of August, I had gotten high before but this time was just special. My goals were suddenly clear, vision on point and energy right there to go with it. This high was more than words can explain. I was smoking that good stuff! I was sure my supply would last forever… Until I found myself dodging my personal trainers texts. Lol

At this point, I had missed at least 5 sessions that I had to reschedule. Then I told her I would be out of town and that I would contact her to schedule the next appointment. Truth is, I was only out of town for 2 days but it had been 2 weeks and she had not heard from me.
See, we all get that high in the beginning. That awesome “lets do it!” feeling. We are willing to do whatever it takes to get what we want and we are sure this time, we will make it happen. Unfortunately, the reality is that the excitement fades and if you have made changes for the wrong reasons, those changes so easily fade too

Even if I had not been to the gym in 3 weeks, I had worked out at least  3 times/week and continued to pay attention to my portions but my motivation was different. My whole journey had been about understanding how my body works and only making changes that made sense. So now when I get up to workout, it’s because it makes sense, and when I pass a buffet line, I know why.
I encourage you to take advantage of your high. Use it to learn how your body really works. Don’t make any drastic changes; Instead, make changes that make sense to you. Focus on building a lifestyle so that when the buzz is reduced… You have a reason to keep going. Remember, lifestyle not crash diet! Let’s do this!
Happy thanksgiving people!!!
Ps. I don’t smoke, just needed to make a point. Lol
