I had just started my fitness journey and was chilling one day, watching TV. These 2 gorgeous ladies were hosting some show. Long hair flowing, make up on point and bodies to die for! I’m seating there thinking “meiiiiiiinnnnnnn one day!”
Shortly after, one of the ladies joked to the other “You know how we mothers have to work extra hard” whattt?? You have kids?? Whatever! Now you’re just showing off! My next thought wasn’t “Drop down n give me 20”, I just laughed real hard as I lost hope. Don’t Judge me. Fine, go ahead, Judge. I judged me too. lol
Now, one of the things I do is pay attention to encouraging fitness memes on Instagram/twitter. Some of them are just funny but many of them have quotes that are really encouraging. I like them because they help me keep my workouts/health in mind until I get to them.
What I found interesting is that many of them have a sweaty person flashing their abs or some dude standing on his nose, with an apple balanced on his finger saying “You can do this!” “No pain no gain”. Ok I made the dude up but you get my point :D.
Usually I think “nice body, good job” but that doesn’t really motivate me. In my world, I am my standard and I keep pushing the bar. Not because the next person did it, but because I know I can be so much better than where I am now. And that is my main motivation. But hey, some days are rough and those quotes give me something to think about.

Nah! ‘Naked’ just makes me want to eat a boat load of ice cream! The thought of growing old gracefully & healthy (or the aversion to the idea of spending my twilight years in a hospital bed) makes ME want to lace up my shoes & hit the road!
